In memory of Gerry Wenham, my father who passed away on Saturday 17
th
March 2007.
He was extremely proud of Albion Canvas and was very supportive over the years.
A very caring and practical man with a wonderful sense of humour. At this moment he is probably checking out the skip in front of the heavenly gates for anything useful, and whispering in St. Peters ear 'where did you get your b***** haircut' !
The photos are of him on his 70th birthday in 2005, with his grandaughters Aislinn and Amy, and with is father Len in 1942.
He was a boy entrant to the RAF at the age of 14 in 1950, where he served in the middle east until 1957.
He went on to work at Heathrow in various capacities until 1980 when he was a ramp supervisior.
He died suddenly from a severe form of cancer at home in Lujar near Castel de Ferro Andalucia, Spain.
He will be greatly missed by his family, partner Coral and his countless friends in Spain and England.
He was always so helpful to everyone he knew, a very practical man and always happy to help out with any home DIY projects from pool maintenace to building an extension. He loved to come to my workshop and organise me, sorting and storing tools and storage and applying his unique sales chat to any passing customer!
If you are ever in Castel or Lujar ask the locals about Gerry, twirl your imaginary moustache and watch their eyes light up!
