At 4.8m, (15ft 9") diameter it is the largest of the one person construction yurts and therefore the most popular sized yurt for personal use.

The first photograph shows a 16ft yurt with porch, window and soft wood doors. The canvas is in the new style with brown sod cloth. The porch really gives a lot of protection to the door, essential in the British climate, although not a traditional Kyrgyz yurt accessory!

The second photo is of the interior of the yurt. the roof is finished with a crimson serge (wool) liner, a recent addition to our range. This adds warmth and colour to the interior of the yurt. Also note the fitted light brown jute carpet (not the coloured rug) and window. The jute carpets give a quick and simple finish to the interior, hiding the plastic groundsheet and adding to the homely feel.

I have just had a report from one of my customers in France saying their 16ft yurt has just survived a Tornado strike with no problems, despite damage to other structures around!

The third pic shows a suggested layout for sleeping. The cicle in the centre represents a wood burning stove. Doors are shown standard width opening inwards.

The frame includes three sections of trellis, doorframe, yurt wheel and 36 roof ribs, all in straight grain Ash with a linseed oil finish. The 393gm (12oz) fire retardant canvas cover includes the roof, two part walls, and zipped canvas door; five-pointed cap with clear skylight, wall band, pegs, instructions and storage bag.

Windows, door, porch and coloured details are extra. Groundsheet is heavy-duty vinyl with 15cm wall.

All our canvas is fire retardant as standard and comes in white, olive green, tarpaulin green and 'sand' (a pale brown).
